For the later part of August, I stayed in Kelowna and trained some huge weeks. Again this summer, Telemark ran the Okanagan Summer Camp which included many skiers from across the valley. Since I am one of the oldest athletes training in the Okanagan, these camps are a good opportunity for younger skiers to train with some older and more experienced athletes. Overall the camp was a success.
On September 4th I was the runner in the Summerland sprint triathlon relay with Conor Martin and Axana Merckx. It was my first race wearing a number since doing the Salty Dog mountain bike race back in May. Two days after doing the triathlon relay in Summerland, the whole Telemark team participated in our annual Rollerski Triathlon.
For the first week back to school, I was fortunate to be on a rest week, after having completed some massive hours. For the fall semester I will be at Okanagan College where I am taking courses so that I have enough time to train full-time, and work a part-time job. Life this fall will be busy, but I have goals to keep my motivation high!
